chihuahua eating a pumpkin pupcake decorated with a dog bone style treat.

If your dog prefers softer treats (and who doesn’t?) This Halloween Pumpkin Pupcakes recipe will leave them howling for joy. The recipe takes just a few minutes to put together, and was well received by all four of our dogs.

We found this recipe on Crazy for Crust, and highly recommend you stop by there for their detailed article on making these. Although this recipe is more or less the same, as the author wrote, you know your dog best. Peanut butter whippy cream frosting was not going to fly in this house, so we swapped to cream cheese.

Ingredients:

1 Cup Canned Pumpkin

2 tablespoons molasses

2 tablespoons honey

1 large egg

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 cup all purpose flour

1 package cream cheese

Mix the pumpkin, molasses, honey and egg together first. Then put your dry ingredients, the baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and flour in. Stir again. Load these into a muffin tin, and bake at 350F for 14-16 minutes.

Once you have taken them out and let them cool, frost with the cream cheese. Your dogs will love it! These freeze well in the freezer if your pup can’t eat them all right away. (Which with our tiny pups, they really can’t.)
